Michael is enjoying a spectacular season as the first-year starter has collected a team-high 13 sacks and also has 61 tackles a forced fumble and fumble recovery to his credit. His 13 sacks are the second best in school history and he is within ½ sack of the team record of 13.5 set in 1992 by Joe Winklemann. Leiter enjoyed a great game at Mater Dei picking up four tackles and two key sacks Mike picked up four tackles, a sack and recovered a fumble against St. John Bosco. He recorded 10 tackles against Ayala, eight tackles and 1½ sacks vs. Los Alamitos, five tackles and a sack at Lakewood, nine tackles and 1 ½ sacks vs. Norco and five tackles and 1 ½ sacks vs. Loyola.
Misc:
Mike made significant strides in the off-season and developed
into a physical and exceptionally quick player for his position.
Leiter is a member of the Strength, Speed, Power and iron Eagle
Clubs, a Hartigan hero, a member of the 500 lb, 800 lb, and 900
lb Club and was recognized as a War Eagle.
