The Eagles won their second consecutive Serra League two weeks ago finishing with a 2-0-1 record. The four teams in it have posted a 26-14-3 cumulative record through 11 weeks, and two teams - Mater Dei and Santa Margarita remain alive in the playoff.

It is expected that perennial powers Los Angeles Loyola and La Puente Bishop Amat will join the existing Serra League members in forming the Angelus League beginning in the 2002-03 school year.

The Serra League one of the five leagues in CIF-SS that make up Division I. Division I football has been recognized by leading prep sports writers and recruiters as one of the top conferences in the nation. Division I favorite, Long Beach Poly, is ranked No. 4 in USA Today's Super 25.

The Eagles have posted an 11-3-1 (.767) all-time mark against Serra League rivals going back to 1991.

Santa Margarita's lower levels enjoyed great seasons. The Sophomores/JVs finished 9-1, 2-1 as did the freshmen who scored 369 points in nine games - an average of 36.9 points per game.

The Servite game broke a streak of 15 consecutive games that the Eagles had scored at least three touchdowns. The Eagles have scored at least 14 points in 22 straight games.

Ashton White set a career-high for yards rushing (283) at St. John Bosco. The 283 yards was the second best in school history behind Billy Newman's 364 at Trabuco Hills in 1996.

Ashton White's four Tds at Rialto marked the ninth time in 10 games that he has scored at least two. His Tds also gave him at least one in 10 straight. His 24 total Tds in 2001 are tied for the 3rd best single-season total.

Chase McWhorter became the 17th different Eagle to crack the century mark with his 116 yards rushing vs. Norco.

Jason Graban's three field goals against Servite broke the school record of two held by six players most recently Curt Cooper. Interestingly, these were also the only three he has made all season.

Marshall Tharpe's 63.4% completion pct. in 2001 puts him on pace to break Carson Palmer's single season mark of 63.0 set in 1997. Tharpe's 63.5% career completion pct. is also ahead of Palmer's career mark of 60.0.

Senior DE Mike Leiter has 13 sacks and is ½ sack away from the school record held by Joe Winklemann.

The Eagles' 34 sacks are the second most ever behind the 50 they registered in 14 games in 1998.
