Fifita named OC Register Defensive Player of the Year
Santa Margarita’s Dash Fifita stood out on a defensive unit loaded with standout players from the front line to the backfield. He was fast, instinctive and rugged as a linebacker and was a leader for a Santa Margarita team that won the top divisional championships in the CIF Southern Section and CIF State playoffs.

Trent Mosley named MaxPreps California High School Football Player of the Year
The 5-foot-11, 170-pound senior wide receiver led the Eagles to an 11-3 record and Open Division state title, the school's first since 2011. Despite missing time with injury, Mosley compiled 58 receptions for 831 yards and six touchdowns to go with 34 carries for 204 yards and 10 more scores in nine games.

 Eagles to play in D1 CIF Championship
The Eagles rolled into the CIF-SS Division 1 championship game with a 31-6 win over Orange Lutheran. Santa Margarita, which beat previously undefeated Sierra Canyon 21-9 in the Division 1 first round, plays Centennial in the championship game Friday at 7 p.m. at the Rose Bowl. The Eagles beat Centennial in overtime 33-27 in August. This is the 5th time that the Eagles have made it to the CIF Championship game.
