 Eagles to play in D1 CIF Championship
The Eagles rolled into the CIF-SS Division 1 championship game with a 31-6 win over Orange Lutheran. Santa Margarita, which beat previously undefeated Sierra Canyon 21-9 in the Division 1 first round, plays Centennial in the championship game Friday at 7 p.m. at the Rose Bowl. The Eagles beat Centennial in overtime 33-27 in August. This is the 5th time that the Eagles have made it to the CIF Championship game.
Eagles 31 - Orange Lutheran 6
The Lancers entered the game ranked #19 in the nation after upsetting #3 ranked St. John Bosco. QB Trace Johnson was 11/21 for 123 yards and 2 TDs. RB Jaion Smith rushed 16 times for 69 yards and 1 TD. RB Adrian Petero rushed 2 times for 10 yards and 1 TD. WR Trent Mosley caught 5 passes for 83 yards and 2 TDs.
