7 Eagles Commit
Congratulations to OL Brett Neilon (USC), QB Richard Wagner (Cornell), WR Grant Calcaterra (Oklahoma), DL David Xavier Chen (Claremont McKenna), DB Darian Fernandez (Southern Utah), OL Tommy Parker (Sacramento State), and LB Jadon DiGravio (Saddleback JC) from the class of 2017 who have committed to play football at the next level.

OL Brett Neilon was named a US Army All-American. WR Grant Calcaterra was named a US Under Armour All-American. Both Eagles will play in All-Star Games.

OL Brett Neilon was named 1st Team Offense by Cal-Hi, MaxPreps and USA Today. DB/KR Malone Mataele earned Cal-Hi 2nd Team Multi-Purpose (Junior Team). WR Grant Calcaterra was also a Cal-Hi All-State Nominee. Brett Neilon was later named to the MaxPreps All-Decade Team (2010-19) - 2nd Team Offense.

OL Brett Neilon earned both OC Register and LA Times 1st Team All-County. RB Chad Magyar, WR Grant Calcaterra and All-Purpose athlete Malone Mataele made the OC Register 2nd team. LB Caden Fitch earned OC Register 3rd Team Defense.

The Eagles (7-5) finish the season with a loss in the 2nd round of the CIF playoffs to league rival St. John Bosco. RB Chad Magyar ran 18 times for 56 yards. RB Malone Mataele ran 10 times for 50 yards. QB Richard Wagner was 11 for 21 and 95 yards. Defensively Caden Fitch and Brennan Gibbons collected 9 tackles each. The Eagles finish the season ranked #20 in the final state Division 1 rankings.

Calcaterra selected to 2017 Under Armor All-American Game
Senior Grant Calcaterra was selected to the 2017 Under Armour All-American game to be played live on ESPN on January 1st, 2017 from Orlando, Florida. Calcaterra, a 6’4” 215 pound wide receiver verbally committed to the University of Oklahoma earlier this year to play for Coach Bob Stoops’ Sooners and will compete in the Big 12 Conference. Grant is currently leading the Trinity League in receiving yards with 412 yards, which ranks him sixth in the county. In addition to excelling on the football field, Grant also excels in the classroom as he maintains a 3.64 GPA.
