Santa Margarita defeats Beaumont
BEAUMONT, CA., November 17, 1989 – Trevor Yankoff and Josh Ireland scored first-quarter touchdowns Friday night to lead Santa Margarita to a 20-0 CIF Division IX victory at Beaumont.
Santa Margarita, which doesn't have a senior on its roster and is in its first year of varsity football, advances to Friday's quarterfinals. The Eagles (8-3) play Carpinteria, a 34-3 winner over Western Christian.
Yankoff, who completed 2 of 3 passes for 16 yards, opened the scoring with a 2-yard run.
