2013 EAGLES

Servite - Game Notes

The Eagles (3-3, 0-1) are coming off a 56-12 loss to nationally ranked St. John Bosco in their Trinity League opener. This Friday night the Eagles travel to Cerritos College to play the Servite Friars (3-3, 0-1) in a critical game that will help define a Pac-5 playoff berth. Kickoff for this match up is set for 7 pm.

Last week the Friars lost 28-21 to Mater Dei. They are led by first-year coach A.J. Gass and duel threat QB Travis Waller.

Santa Margarita's Harry Welch comes into the game with a career mark of 255-57-2 in his 25th season as a head coach. Junior WR Kyle Sweet paces the offensive charge with an amazing 44 receptions for 809 yards in just six games while senior MLB Joseph McGill leads the defense with 81 total tackles.

The Servite game will mark the 7th game of the Eagles 25th Anniversary season and it will be the 19th meeting between these Catholic foes dating back to a 13-12 Eagle win in 1991. The Eagles have played the Friars more times than any other opponent, and Servite leads the all-time series 10-7-1. Santa Margarita defeated Servite 21-0 last year at Saddleback college ending a seven game losing streak to them.
