Congratulations to OL Jamie Azdair (Hamilton College), DB AJ Cruz (Brown), WR Gavin Escobar (San Diego State), QB Ryan World (Western Carolina University), OL Michael McFarland (William Jewell College), DL Matthew Bock (Washington State), WR Sean Willet (Arizona), DB Steven Steinmetz (Southern Methodist), and LB Morgan Viar (Air Force) from the class of 2009 who have committed to play football at the next level.

Jamie Azdair Wins Zug Award
Congratulations to Jamie Azdair, Eagle Football Class of 2009, on being awarded the Zug Award presented by the First Friday Friars Club. Jamie received the award on April 3, 2009 for epitomizing, "a belief in God, love of family, civic duty and of course, football." Other Eagle Alumni who received the award include: Ron Mehrens (1991); Ryan Korinke (1995); Ryan Sim (1997) and Thomas Hull in 2006.

AJ Cruz Honored by the National Football Foundation
The Orange County Chapter of the National Football Foundation (NFF) and College Hall of Fame recognized AJ Cruz as one of the top football scholar-athletes in Orange County at the Anaheim Convention Center on Monday, March 9 at its 39th Annual Scholar-Athlete Awards Banquet. Additionally, AJ was selected a Scholarship winner. More recent SM honorees have been Matt Browning, Ryan Maxwell, Eric Reisinger and Charles Taylor, all Class of 2007 and Thomas Hull, Class of 2006. AJ has committed to football at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.

Wilting against a bigger, more physical team, Santa Margarita gave up four touchdowns in the second quarter and was beaten by Chaparral of Temecula, 42-31, at Saddleback College on Friday. The score was deceptively close as Santa Margarita (2-3) scored twice in the final 84 seconds against the Pumas' second team. QB Ryan World finished with 207 yards passing.
