1996 OUTLOOK: The Vanguards like to run the ball and play smash mouth football. In late Summer they lost their starting quarterback with a knee injury. His status was not known at press time, but that could force El Modena to be even more conservative. Three ex-Eagle coaches are on the Vanguard staff. Head man Steve Howard, line coach Brett Kohorst and defensive back coach Tommie Inglima.
