SERIES FACTS: Last year the Eagles avenged two previous losses with a 20-0 victory. In the 1994 opener, the Mustangs took the opening kickoff back for a score and held on for a 17-12 win. Trabuco made it to the CIF Division I semifinals. In 1989 the Eagles held their own in the first half before Trabuco Hills pulled away in the second half. The Eagles played with only juniors and sophomores against a team that went on to win the CIF title. Mustangs lead the series 2-1.
1996 OUTLOOK: The Mustangs begin their second year under Crow. Jim Barnett, who coached the Mustangs to three CIF titles, returns to lead the offense. Trabuco had a lot of holes to fill last season, and should be seasoned to begin 1996. The Mustangs begin their third year in the South Coast League and look to return to their glory in 1994 when they reached the Division I semifinals.
