David Shearer - Dartmouth
David Shearer was a 4-year starter at both wide receiver and defensive back and a member of the Charter Class of Santa Margarita. In his four years, he was a Team Captain and won team awards for Impact Player and Most Valuable Player. David was also All-Olympic League and GTE/Rams All-Academic Orange County. His eight catches against Miraleste in 1989 rank him #30 All-Time most receptions in a game. With 34 catches in 1989, he is ranked #37 All-Time for most receptions in a season. His 63 receptions from 1989-90 rank him as the #17 All-Time receptions leader in Eagle history. In a 1990 playoff game against Bell Gardens, he had 115 receiving yards which ranks him #79 for most receiving yardage in a game. In 1989 he had 491 total yards in the season, which ranks him #35 for most receiving yards in a season. With 972 reception yards from 1989-90, he is ranked as the #13 All-Time receiving yardage leader. He is also tied for #54 on the Career Scoring Leaders list with 60 points. Defensively he is tied with Brad Finneran at #2 for the most interceptions in a season with 7 Interceptions. He is #3 on the All-Time interceptions list with nine interceptions. His 112 career tackles rank him #64 on the All-Time tackles list. After graduation, David went on to play football at Dartmouth University. In his Dartmouth career, he had 93 catches for 1423 yards, 13 TDs, and three two-point conversions. He was Academic All-American, Academic All-Ivy League, and won two Dartmouth team awards.
