Brian Berg - San Diego State University

Brian played defensive line for the Eagles and registered 130 total tackles and 15 sacks over his career. He was named First Team All-Sea View League twice, was Defensive Lineman of the Year twice, and in his senior year he was named team MVP, All-CIF second team and All-Orange County. Brian was also an Orange County All-Star Game selection.

After graduation, Brian was named defensive scout team player of the year as a freshman at UCLA. He then transfered to Saddleback JC where he was was a 2x team MVP and a 2X J.C. Gridwire All-American, and Academic All-American. He then received a scholarship to San Diego State University. He went on to play for the San Diego Riptide of the Arena Football League. In 2001 he was inducted into the Saddleback Football Hall of Fame.

  • 1995: SMCHS - Team MVP (only lineman to win the Team MVP award)
  • 1996: UCLA - Defensive Scout Team Player of the Year
  • 1997: Saddleback JC - record holder - Tackles in a game 24
  • 1997: Saddleback JC - 1st Team All Mission conference
  • 1997: Saddleback JC - Defensive Player of the Year
  • 1998: Saddleback JC - 1st Team All Mission Conference
  • 1998: Saddleback JC - 1st Team JC Gridwire All-American
  • 1997-‘98: Saddleback JC - Record Holder - Assisted Tackles in a career - 169
  • 1997-‘98: Saddleback JC - Record Holder - Total Tackles in a Career - 241
  • 1999: SDSU - 1st Team Academic All-Mountain West
  • 2000: SDSU - 2nd Team All - Mountain West
  • 2000: SDSU - led team with unassisted Tackles - 73
  • 2000: SDSU - 2nd Team Academic All-Mountain West
  • 2001: Saddleback JC - Inducted into Saddleback Football Hall of Fame
  • 2002: San Diego Riptide - Scored first recorded touchdown in franchise history
