LAS FLORES, CA., November 8, 2007 – No. 10 Santa Margarita held off a late surge by St. John Bosco of Bellflower to pull out a 31-24 victory in a Trinity League football game on Thursday night at Tesoro High.

The Eagles (5-4, 2-2) become eligible for an at-large playoff berth into the Pac-5 Division playoffs with the victory, but they will have to wait until the CIF-SS pairings are announced Sunday. The Braves finished the season 3-6 overall and 1-3 in league.

"We don’t control our own destiny," Eagles coach Mike Jacot said. "We just wanted to make this a one-game season and win this one."
