Jason Graban (5-10, 170) enjoyed a great off-season earning great marks for his performances at the Nike Combine and during passing league games. Started the 2002 season off well, but was hampered during the second half of the season due to nagging injuries. Jason is expected to make significant contributions on offense, defense and special teams in 2003.
2003: Jason caught one pass for eight yards vs. Loyola in Week 9. Graban caught one pass for 12 yards and collected one tackle vs. Servite in Week 8. Has eight tackles and six receptions on the season. Jason registered two tackles and returned a fumble 12 yards at Bishop Amat in Week 6. Graban caught a team-high three passes, registered three tackles and broke up a key pass against Trabuco Hills. Jason caught two passes for 34 yards including a four-yard scoring in Week 2 at Redlands. His 30-yard reception was the third longest of his career. Caught one pass for nine yards and picked up a tackle and an interception at Foothill in the pre-season scrimmage. Has 19 receptions and 63 points scored in his career.
2002: Graban finished with eight receptions for 87 yards and one touchdown. He caught a career-high four passes for 45 yards including a season-long 34-yarder and had a two-yard touchdown reception at Servite in Week 7. Jason caught two passes including a 27-yarder vs. St. John Bosco. Jason earned Special Teams Player of the Game honors for the second week in a row after connecting on a career-long 42-yard field goal against Dorsey in Week 3. Also caught one pass for two yards. In Week 2 he made all five PATs and was successful on a 35-yard field goal. Jason contributed on offense, defense and special teams at the El Modena game, but did not register any statistics. Was 5/5 on PATs and 2/4 in FG’s in 2002.
In 2001: Made significant contributions to the Eagles last year including a school record tying three field goals vs. Servite. Finished his sophomore season with six receptions for 94 yards including a 33-yard score vs. Tustin and was named to the All-Serra League Team as a kicker. Finished second on the team with 40 points. Jason successfully kicked 23 of 29 PATs and three out of five FGs. Added a two-point conversion reception vs. Rialto in Week 11.
Misc.: Runs the 40 in 4.59, and is a member of the Speed Eagle Club. His 48 career points are good for 30th on the school’s all-time scoring list.
