Reiley Higgins - Brown

Reiley HigginsReiley lettered three years in football and lacrosse, serving as a senior captain for the football team. He was a two time 2nd-Team All-Trinity League wide receiver. He was also the OC Register Athlete of the Week in the 2010 season. At the time he had the 2nd best yards per catch in school history averaging 21.1 yards per catch. He was a member of National Honor Roll for every semester as well as the California Scholarship Federation (CSF). Recipient of the Academic Eagle Award.

Reiley continued his career at Brown where he caught 36 passes for 503 yards and 4 TDs for the Bears. He also returned 17 kickoffs for 296 yards and 1 TD, had 14 Punt Returns for 92 yards, and recovered 2 onside kicks (one for a TD). He won Brown's Kilgore MacFarlane '23 Award. This is awarded to a member of the football squad from a western state who best exemplified leadership, ability and conduct in the tradition of Brown University.

As a senior, Reiley had his finest day in a Brown uniform with 7 catches for 137 yards against Yale, while also racking-up 42 kick-off return yards. He caught a 36-yard touchdown pass and made three receptions for 48 yards against Penn.  He also Pulled down 5 catches for 66 yards against Dartmouth. Reiley Higgins was named the Ivy League's Special Teams Player of the Week after scoring two touchdowns in Brown's 42-16 win over Cornell, including one of the rarest plays in football, a touchdown return of an onside kick. For this performance he also was awarded the CFPA National Kick Returner of the Week.

As a junior, Reiley played in nine games as one of the Bears’ top kick and punt returners. He finished second on the team and fifth in the Ivy League in punt return average, returning 11 punts for an average of 5.5 yards per game. He ranked second on the team in kick returns, averaging 16 yards per attempt. He also finished the season with six receptions for a total of 65 yards and one touchdown. He Scored his first career touchdown – a 22-yard catch – in the Bears’ win over Bryant. In the same game accumulated a season high 106 all-purpose yards, including a season long punt return of 13 yards. He also made a long catch of 23 yards in the Bears’ season opening win over Georgetown.
