As a senior, Matt (aka. Duke) was All-League as well as becoming the third consecutive All-American Quarterback to take the reigns of the Eagle offense. Although on paper Matt will always be known as the first Quarterback to beat Mater Dei and win the school's first Division I League Championship, he will also be remembered for his leadership and the standards he set for all QBs to follow with his tireless work ethic on the field, in the weight room and on the chalkboard.
Matt received a full scholarship to the University of Illinois. Matt later transferred to San Diejo State to finish his career. Matt played in 26 games for the Aztecs over three seasons (2003-05). He finished his career 256-of-433 (59.1%) for 2,597 yards and 10 touchdowns.
