Cory Thomson - Weber State

Cory ThomsonCory Thomson '11 was a two-time Trinity All-League selection for the Eagles. He is ranked #17 on the Eagles All-Time Rushing list with 1087 yards.

Finished his three-year Weber State career in 2016 by earning All-Big Sky Conference honors for the second-straight year. Played in 32 career games at Weber State and with 27 career kickoff returns for 715 yards, which ranks thirteenth in Weber State career history. He also ran the ball 41 times for 147 yards and 3 TDs, caught 17 passes for 172 yards and 1 TD. Defensively he finished his career with 25 total tackles (16 solo, 9 asst).

2016: Earned All-Big Sky Conference honors in three different categories...Was named to the All-Conference Third Team as a special teams player and a return specialist...Also earned honorable mention all-conference honors at fullback...Played in 11 games for the Wildcats during the season, helping Weber State to a 7-5 record, a third-place finish in the Big Sky Conference and its first trip to the FCS Playoffs in seven years...Led the Big Sky and finished sixth in the nation in kickoff returns...Had 24 returns for 675 yards for an average of 28.1 yards per return...The 675 kickoff return yards ranks as the sixth most in a season in WSU history...Set a Weber State school record with 211 kickoff return yards in WSU’s win at UC Davis...Also had 163 return yards at North Dakota, the eighth most in a single game...Had a season-high return of 62 yards against UND...Also had 16 rushing attempts for 29 yards and two touchdowns...Had a season-high of seven carries for 18 yards in the season-opener at Utah State...Had rushing touchdowns at South Dakota and at North Dakota...Also had six receptions for 25 yards and one touchdown...Also played defense for one game against Cal Poly and finished with a team-high 14 tackles with nine solo tackles and one tackle for loss.

2015: Earned Big Sky All-Conference honorable mention at full back for the Wildcats...Played in all 11 games for the Wildcats, helping Weber State to a 6-5 record...Had 25 carries for 118 yards and one touchdown...Had a season-high nine carries for 36 yards in WSU’s win at Montana Oct. 10...Had a season-high 43 yards on seven carries and a touchdown in the home opening win over Sacramento State...Also had 11 receptions for 147 yards with a season-high 42 yards receiving in the win at Montana...Had two kickoff returns for 10 yards...Totaled 275 all purpose yards, eighth most on the WSU team.

2014: Saw action in 10 games for the Wildcats during the season...Had one kickoff return for 30 yards and recorded three tackles on the season.
