Brett Neilon - USC
Brett Neilon '17 anchored the offensive line for the Eagles playing both tackle and center in his career. He made 2016 Prep Star All-American Dream Team, Tacoma News Tribune Western 100, USA Today All-California first team, Cal-Hi Sports All-State first team, Los Angeles Times All-Area first team, Orange County Register All-Orange County first team, All-Trinity League first team and National Football Foundation Scholar-Athleteas a senior center. As a junior in 2015, he made Cal-Hi Sports All-State Junior second team. He also lettered in basketball and track and field, where he was named SMCHS Athlete of the Year and earned the Academic Scholar Award. Appeared in 47 games (starting 42) in his career with the USC Trojans, also making 2 tackles. He was a 2020 All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention - Offense selection. In 2021, Neilon started all 12 games at center (his third season as the starter) as a senior in 2021. He made 2021 All-Pac-12 honorable mention and Pro Football Focus All-Pac-12 first team and won USC’s Co-John McKay Award. In 2022 Brett started 13 games finished with an overall grade of 90.2 and is the second-highest graded center behind fellow Rimington finalist John Michael Schmitz of Minnesota. He was a First-team Action Network All-American & PFF Second-team All American. His 90.5 pass-block grade was behind only Connor Pay of BYU at 91.5. Brett was named a one of three finalists for the Rimington Trophy, which is presented annually to the nation's best center. |
