AJ Cruz - Brown
At Santa Margarita AJ was a three year starter in football. He was a two-time All-Trinity League selection and selected to the South team in the Orange County North-South All-Star game. He Holds three Santa Margarita school records for longest kickoff return for a touchdown (97 yards), highest kickoff-return average (34 yards), and highest vertical (37 inches). Also helped lead the Eagles to a state championship in basketball. Named to the California Scholarship Federation (CSF). At Brown AJ Cruz was named first-team FCS All-American by the American Football Coaches Association. Cruz is one of 41 players in Ivy League football history, and the 10th from Brown, to have been selected First Team All-Ivy three times, and the tenth Brown player to be named First Team All-Ivy three times. Known as an exceptional cover corner, Cruz intercepted 12 passes throughout his Brown career, fourth-best in Brown football history. He ranked second on the team in 2012 with 71 total tackles, and intercepted four passes, second-best in the Ivy League. Cruz also returned punts and kickoffs, and earned Second Team All-Ivy honors as a return specialist. AJ played Arena League football for the LA Kiss and was on the AMC TV show "4th and Loud" which followed the LA Kiss through their inaugural football season. |
